I don't get the whole Anne Frank sensation...
So Anne is a symbol of hope, optimism, and such, yes? Why does she stand out so much from the 6 million other Jewish souls that died? She kept a diary? Well, I'm pretty sure that she wasn't the only Jewish person that kept a diary during hiding from the Gestapo. No, definitely not. Her father just happened-Holy crap, I just felt an earthquake.
Seriously. I just did.
Okay, haha, back on topic. As I saying, her father just happened to make it out alive to publish her story. Then she became a worldwide symbol. The public reads one, they believe only one. If they read more diaries and primary sources, they may start to realize that others had endured times maybe even more painful the ones Anne Frank and the members of the Secret Annex. Maybe more murdered souls would be recognized.
